IP (Internet Protocol)

IP, or Internet Protocol, is a fundamental network-layer protocol that is part of the Internet protocol suite, which is the basis for the internet and most local area networks. The primary function of IP is to deliver packets of data from the source host to the destination host based on their IP addresses.

Key aspects of Internet Protocol include:

IP works closely with other protocols, particularly TCP (Transmission Control Protocol), which is used for connection-oriented transmissions, ensuring reliable and ordered delivery of a stream of data from the source to the destination. While IP takes care of the delivery, TCP takes care of keeping track of the packet delivery sequence, managing data integrity, and maintaining the connection until all packets are securely transferred.

Together, IP and TCP form the basic communication language of the internet, allowing billions of devices to connect and communicate seamlessly across the globe.
