Batch ID
A Batch ID is a unique identifier assigned to a collection of transactions, known as a batch, once it has been settled. This identifier is crucial for tracking and managing payment processing, as it links all transactions within the same batch, ensuring that they are grouped together for reporting and reconciliation purposes. The presence of a Batch ID indicates that the transactions have successfully gone through the settlement process, where funds are transferred from the acquiring bank to the merchant's account.
If a transaction lacks a Batch ID, it signifies that the transaction has not yet been settled. This can be useful for troubleshooting or tracking the status of transactions that are still pending or in the process of being captured. The Batch ID is essential for merchants and financial institutions alike to verify and audit transaction flows, manage financial records efficiently, and address any discrepancies that might arise during the settlement process.
