Affinity Card
An affinity card is a type of credit card issued in partnership between a credit card issuer and a specific organization or collective group, such as a professional organization, alumni group, or association for retirees. These cards are tailored to the members of the affiliated group and often feature unique designs or benefits that reflect the group’s interests or goals. The card issuer, who underwrites and issues the card, typically pays a royalty to the organization for the privilege of marketing the card to its membership base. This arrangement not only helps the issuer tap into a targeted customer segment but also provides the organization with a revenue stream that can support its activities or charitable causes.
