Administrative Access
Administrative access refers to the elevated or increased privileges granted to certain accounts, allowing them to manage systems, networks, and applications. This level of access is typically assigned either to individual user accounts or to built-in system accounts, enabling them to perform a range of critical administrative functions. Accounts with such privileges are commonly known as "superuser," "root," "administrator," "admin," "sysadmin," or "supervisor-state," with the specific terminology varying based on the operating system in use and the organizational policies. These accounts are crucial for the maintenance and secure configuration of IT environments, but due to their powerful capabilities, they must be managed with stringent security measures to prevent unauthorized access and potential misuse.
